Iāve been dealing with some personal stuff lately, all on my own; there have been times in which Iāve questioned my self worth & have wanted to throw the towel in with everything.
Sometimes you need to take a step back & look at how far youāve come. So thatās what I did this past week. I stepped on the scale for the first time in ages. Iām officially 30 pounds down. A goal I set back in March (top set of pictures). It took me 9 months to see what Iām capable of.
Life isnāt perfect, things hurt you, your heart & wellbeing are tested, but I am a firm believer in the fact that things will always end up how theyāre supposed to be. It. Takes. Time. (And a lot of patience).
Trust the damn process.

I started my journey last year. After being overweight for years, I pulled a muscle in my groin (mostly due to the weight) and I had to have hernia surgery. During recovery I had gained so much more weight on top of what I already had, I knew I needed to make a change in my life. I was sick of being so unhealthy and out of shape, I decided enough was enough. I started out with simple weight lifting and little bits of exercise here and there. After I had started seeing progress I decided to go harder and now I exercise everyday and donāt want to stop, I love it!! I still have so much more to go but now that I see how much better I feel and my quality life is has improved, I know my goal is within reach!
Starting weight: 280
Current weight: 210

Whenever I see a picture of me (taken by someone else) my first reaction is to be sad and ashamed, mostly because my body doesnāt look the way I want, or it doesnāt look like what I see in the mirror, or it doesnāt fit with the image I have of myself inside my brain. And then my head gets invaded by all these negative and destructive thoughts. I preach and preach about being body positive but I donāt apply any of these concepts on myself. So then Iām like okay? This is me? No posing, no standing up straight, no sucking in my stomach, no sticking my butt out, no nice background, just me? Is that so fucking terrible? NOšš½ IT šš½IS šš½NOTšš½ this is me. Time to embrace that.
